Root Xperia Neo L Full steps that works 100%

Note:


1.Follow the instructions carefully and I am not responsible for your bricked devices.
2.Always make backup of your contact, data on sdcard etc.
   Make sure you have installed adb drivers or install sony pc companion it installs adb drivers for your device automatically.

Steps:


 1. In your phone goto setting->developer setting-> turn on usb debugging.
 2. Then again goto setting->xperia->connectivity->usb connection mode-> make it msc mode.
 3. Again goto setting->security->check unknown sources.
 4. Now turn off your device.
 5. Now flash your Neo L with Neo v Kernel file (MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf)
    (WHILE FLASHING DONT SELECT ANY DEVICE FROM THE MENU OF FLASH TOOL AS NEO L IS NOT LISTED IN THE FLASH TOOL MENU.)
   (Note: To Flash .ftf kernel, Open Flashtool and Just click on lightning (Flash) Icon and follow the steps)
    You'll only get vibration but screen does'nt turns on.
    But still usb debugging'll be working.
    (if your phone doesnt turn on here, remove usb and turn on and then reconnect usb, no need to panic).
 7. Now use downloaded DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su and simply run runme.bat.
   (if you get an error like adb driver out of date than install adb.exe (Double Click) from DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su\files\adb.exe)
   (Still have problem then Copy required file from SDK/Plateform-tools to Files folder.)
 8. Now your device will be rooted.
 9. Remove and reinsert your battery.
10. Finally flash Neo L MT25i_4.1.B.0.626_KERNEL.ftf downloaded by you.
11. Now your device is rooted , turn it on.


Installing Flashtool in windows.


Steps:
1. Download the flashtool (Here) .
2. DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS as it wont allow it to install.
3. Double click on flashtool and follow the wizard.
4. After above steps, when you will connect your phone and open flash tool , a pop up menu will appear for first time to select the device model.
   DONT SELECT ANY DEVICE  as Neo L is not listed in the flash tool,

Tools needed to root XPERIA NEO L


Make sure you have installed adb drivers or install sony pc companion as it automatically installs drivers for you.

Tools or things you need to root your XPERIA NEO L are:
1.Latest flash tool
2.Doomlord xperia2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su installer
3.Download Neo V kernel(MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel)
4.Neo L latest kernel version (MT25i_4.1.B.0.626_KERNEL)

Flash .img/sin/elf Kernel Using Flashtool

Steps to follow:


Now you have the the CUSTOM kernel: in form of a boot.img or a boot.sin or a boot.elf

You copy the Kernel[boot.img] file to flashtool directory (C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib).

Ensure your Device is in MSC Mode, USB Debugging is ON and Unknown Source install checked.

Disconnect Device & connect in fastboot mode.

To move to fastboot mode; hold the Menu key (Search Key if available) and connect it to the computer.

The blue LED will light up.

Now launch flashtool & click on the flash then select "Fastboot Mode"

Now there comes up the toolbox where you choose "select kernel to flash"

A new browse window will open and It will now ask to supply the kernel image path.

Now browse to the boot.img (or the boot.sin/boot.elf) that we copied to flashtool directory.

See the log... Flashing Done.

Install ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) (Xperia Devices)

ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 Easy installation for


Pre-Requists:
- Rooted Device
- Locked / Unlocked Bootloader
- Phone Should be ON

1.Enable USB Debugging on device
2.Enable Unknown Sources
3.Enable Mass Storage(MSC) in USB Connectivity
4.Download Zip (4Shared) and extract It
5.Connect your device using usb data cable
6.Run install-cwm?.cmd
install-cwm1.cmd for Xperia Arc / Neo
install-cwm2.cmd for Xperia Mini / MiniPro / Active / Live With Walkman
7.Follow on screen instruction


After Installation


1. Disconnect from PC
2. Restart the Phone
3. Press Volumn Down Key Repeatedly when Sony Logo appears.
4. There will be the CWM menu.

Unlock & Relock bootloader using Flashtool (Android-Sony Xperia)

Unlock your bootloader


a) download and install latest Flashtool from here

b) start Flashtool and click on BLU button on the top

c) turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button (to boot in Flashmode)

d) click on get unlock key button, it will switch you to Sony Mobile website (For Sony Phones Only), here complete all boxes

e) copy IMEI form Flashtool to Sony Mobile site, than you will get unlock code to your mailbox

f) copy unlock key to Flashtool window and than click unlock

g) connect phone with holding menu button when Flashtool shows pop up window

h) wait to unlock finish.

Relock your bootloader



a) start Flashtool and click on BLU button on the top

b) turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button (to boot in Flashmode)

c) just click on relock button and your bootloader is locked for now


For Flashboot Mode: Press back Key or for Touch Navigation Key model, Press Volumn Down Key

Backup Original Firmware (ROM) using FlashTool (Xperia Device)

Steps:

a) if you do not want to lose warranty of your phone, first thing you have to do is to backup your original customization

b) download Sony Update Service (SUS) and reinstall firmware of your phone (backup your data first)

c) after that, go to Program Files and search for folder db/some Number/blob_fs, there you find 3 files, which names start FILE

d) download and install latest Flashtool from here

e) paste the three files, which names start FILE, from blob_fs folder to folder "Firmware" included in the XPERIA Flashtool

f) open the Flashtool, click on Advanced, choose decrypt files and put all three files from blob_fs folder to the right columm

g) click ok and after approx. one minute a pop up Window will appear via Flashtool

h) mark all files and transfer them to the right column, than fill in a box in the right upper corner (fill in what you want, it is just for you)

i) now click ok and Flashtool will create backup of your original firmware customization, that you can anytime flash to your phone

Backup & Restore of your Android without Rooting

How to take full Backup of your Android without Rooting
------------------------------------------------------
Platform Tools with the latest version using SDK Manager.

First of all, connect your Android Device with your Computer using USB cable.
Then, in your Computer open the command prompt. 
Once it opens, type the following command to ensure that Computer has recognized your device:
adb devices.
The command "adb backup" is to enable you to perform full system backup.

The command format to create backup is:
adb backup [-f <file>] [-apk | -noapk] [-shared | -noshared] [-all] [-system | nosystem] [<packages...>]

and the most basic command is:
adb backup -apk -shared –all -system

The above command will help you to take the backup of app and device data only to the current directory as "backup.ab"
in case if it doesn’t work then try the following command:
adb backup -apk -shared –all -system –f C:\backup.ab 
or 
you can also type the desired folder path in place of C:\.

How To Restore the Device backup
------------------
Now, here is the command to restore your device through command line:
adb restore C:\backup.ab
